Stream Systems, in partnership with Kinder Morgan, General Electric and Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF), kicked off the development of a cloud-based oil and gas terminal simulation project at the General Electric Innovation Center on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. This marks an important milestone applying Stream Systems’ innovative simulation technology to a major oil and gas company, using GE’s cloud based Industrial Internet platform, Predix.
After a successful launch of the first product prototype for the midstream sector in December 2014, Stream Systems went on to secure a number of midstream oil and gas clients, including Kinder Morgan, Access Pipeline and Secure Energy. These companies, among others, identified millions of dollars in savings.
Conducting market research, Stream recognized that no other simulation platforms existed with this capability, and proceeded to develop the next iteration of the product. It was identified that the second version of the simulation software must contain major enhancements including deployment of the model into the cloud, simultaneous multiuser model collaboration and improved graphical interface for model configuration.
Kinder Morgan’s participation in this product demonstration program is based on their successful experience using the first iteration of Stream’s simulation model. With financial assistance from AITF, Stream Systems is pleased to announce this milestone project kickoff with Kinder Morgan and GE.
